Doctor Jane Goodall is a world renowned primatologist known for her groundbreaking research of wild chimpanzees in Tanzania. She is also an activist, touring the world to inspire others to help protect the chimpanzees, and to take efforts to conserve the natural world. 

During the American Civil War, a great battle was fought near the town of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. The Gettysburg Address is a short speech that President Abraham Lincoln gave at a ceremony to dedicate a graveyard for Union soldiers who died in that battle.

Harriet Tubman was the courageous woman who escaped from slavery and then returned to the dangerous South again and again to lead others to freedom also. Her name is famously linked with the Underground Railroad, a network of kind people who helped escaping slaves on their path to freedom.
